Original figure: ‘Chewbacca’ (Kenner, 1977).

Modified cardback, bespoke blister, epoxy putty, acrylic paint.

“During the Pandemic, wearing a face mask was an act of civil obedience that drew many of us together: united behind baby blue disposable veils, we felt that we were taking responsibility for the safety of others, and ‘doing our part’.

However, the novelty of mask uniformity soon wore off, and I found myself cruising eBay and Etsy for masks that were more ‘me’.

I have a solid beard, so I went for a jet black drill cotton bandit style facial adornment with sewn in pleats, adjustable twin head straps with cord-locks (not ear loops), separate washable filter inserts, and replaceable nose profiling strips.

Bought five.
